A day in my garden...steemCreated with Sketch.

Today I decided to take a walk in my garden. In the past week we have gone from no snow...to about a foot of snow...to -40 wind chill...and now to an ice storm. My gardens have been through a lot in the past week. And as dangerous as the ice can be, it is beautiful in the photos.

I am entering my garden walk into #wednesdaywalk which was started by @tattoodjay to encourage us to get out and enjoy our surroundings. I am also joining in on the #gardenjournal2019 which was started by @simplymike so that we can share all that is happening in our gardens, both inside and outside.

The ground is frozen so there is no place for the water to go. That is creating little ponds in my back yard. I liked the reflection of the trees in the water.

I leave my pots in place if they can withstand the cold.

I found these butterflies at an art fair years ago. I would buy one each year that I attended the art fair and find a special place in my garden for it. They are able to withstand all types of weather...even ice.

I leave many of my perennials standing for the winter...both for winter interest and to feed the birds.

Oh! You have far more ice than we do! A lot of ours came in the form of sleet, and it covered the roads and the walking surfaces but didn't stick to the trees and flowers like yours did. You certainly got some gorgeous photos! !Tip

Thank you for your kind words! We are supposed to get more sleet/drizzle/freezing rain throughout the day. As the temperatures drop tonight, I think we will still have very slippery roads.

We have chances of thunderstorms tonight and more freezing rain!

Same with us! And I am already hearing about a possible storm for next week.

Oh yuck! I just looked and there is snow in the forecast for Sunday Monday and Tuesday! The snow on Sunday part bothers me because many of the family are coming from out of town to bake Valentine cookies at my house this weekend. I hope the weather doesn't change our plans.

Oh my! I hope it doesn't change your plans. Sounds like fun!

My best friend is coming from Rhinelander which is up near the UP and my son and his family are coming from Chicago so I'll just keep my fingers crossed!

I will cross mine for you too! :)

Ice can be treacherous when walking around but it makes for some seriously cool photos as you have shown us here

I hope you got through you walk without to any slips and sliding on ice

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk !tip

My walk was safe with not much slipping. Thank you for your kind words!

Amazing pictures! It looks dangerous but really beautiful!

Thank you for your kind words...and for visiting.

So many lovely ice pictures! but I must say I like the reflections photo the best. Great #wednesdaywalk

Thank you for visiting and for your kind words!

We got rain yesterday then the temperature plummeted. It has turned all of our driveways to ice. Your garden is pretty.

My driveway is all ice too. Thank you for the kind words about my garden.

A girlfriend slipped and broke her femur. They tried 2 surgeries and then replaced her hip entirely, all in the last 3 weeks. I think of her every time I walk on ice right now. Be careful out there.

Oh my! That is terrible! Thoughts and prayers for her...
