I hope you are all doing well and enjoying another wonderful week of the Steemit Engagement Challenge.

First of all, I would like to thank @josepha for proposing such an inspiring topic because every community, no matter how big or small, has places that deserve to be discovered and appreciated. We often travel hundreds of kilometers searching for beautiful destinations while forgetting that some of the most memorable experiences can be found very close to home.

For this week's challenge, I decided to take you with me to Malibu Coucou Beach, a beautiful seaside destination located in the peaceful town of Ghar El Melh in northern Tunisia. Although many Tunisians have already heard about this place, I believe that it still deserves much more attention because it perfectly combines natural beauty, comfort, local hospitality and unforgettable experiences.

Whenever I have a few days to escape from my daily routine, I always look for places where I can completely disconnect from work, enjoy nature and spend quality time with my family. Malibu Coucou Beach offered exactly that. From the moment I arrived, I could already feel a peaceful atmosphere that immediately made me forget the stress of everyday life. The sound of the Mediterranean waves, the fresh sea breeze, the elegant wooden cabins built above the water and the smiling faces of visitors created an environment where relaxation seemed to happen naturally.

Unlike many crowded beaches where finding a quiet place is almost impossible during summer, Malibu Coucou Beach offers something completely different. Everything is carefully organized, the facilities are clean and modern, and every corner invites visitors to slow down, admire the landscape and simply enjoy the present moment. As the day progressed, I discovered that this destination is much more than a beach; it is a complete experience where nature and tourism coexist in perfect harmony.

Why Is This Place Worth Knowing?

Every region has places that become part of its identity, and after spending an entire day here, I truly believe that Malibu Coucou Beach is one of those special places for the people of Ghar El Melh.

What impressed me the most was not only the beauty of the location itself but also the way it has transformed the tourism image of the region. Instead of offering visitors nothing more than a traditional beach, the owners created a destination where comfort, nature and relaxation blend together perfectly. Wooden cabins built directly above the sea, crystal-clear water, private pools, excellent restaurants and numerous leisure activities make every visitor feel welcomed from the very first moment.

Beyond its touristic value, this place also plays an important role in supporting the local economy by attracting thousands of visitors every summer, creating employment opportunities for local residents and encouraging people to discover the cultural and historical richness of Ghar El Melh after enjoying a relaxing day by the sea.

For all these reasons, I honestly believe that Malibu Coucou Beach deserves to be known not only by Tunisians but also by anyone planning to discover the beauty of the Mediterranean coast.

A Complete Experience, Not Just a Beach

One of the things that surprised me the most during my visit was the incredible number of activities available throughout the day. Whether someone is looking for adventure or simply wants to relax, this place offers something for everyone.

After settling into our beautiful wooden cabin overlooking the sea, we immediately felt surrounded by a peaceful atmosphere. The gentle sound of the waves beneath the cabin, combined with the fresh Mediterranean breeze moving the turquoise curtains, created a relaxing environment where time seemed to slow down.

Visitors can swim directly from their private cabins into the crystal-clear sea, relax in comfortable hammocks suspended above the water, enjoy private swimming pools, taste freshly prepared seafood while admiring spectacular views, take unforgettable photographs from different angles or simply spend quality time with friends and family in complete tranquility.

Later in the afternoon, we also had the opportunity to watch horses walking peacefully along the beach before boarding a small boat that allowed us to admire Ghar El Melh from the sea. Every activity felt different, and each one offered a new perspective of this beautiful destination.

A Peaceful Retreat Above the Sea

After discovering the beach, we headed to our private wooden cabin, and I have to admit that this was the moment when I truly started to appreciate everything this place had to offer. The cabin was built directly above the sea, allowing us to enjoy an uninterrupted panoramic view of the Mediterranean while listening to the gentle sound of the waves beneath our feet. Sitting there with my family, protected from the summer heat by the elegant blue curtains dancing with the sea breeze, I immediately felt a sense of calm that is becoming increasingly difficult to find in our busy lives.

Sometimes we travel far away looking for extraordinary places, yet all we really need is a comfortable chair facing the sea, the fresh scent of salty air, and enough time to appreciate the beauty surrounding us. Malibu Coucou Beach gave me exactly that feeling. It wasn't simply a place to spend a few hours; it was somewhere that encouraged me to slow down, disconnect from technology, and fully enjoy every moment.

A Meal That Completed the Experience

After spending part of the afternoon swimming and exploring the resort, it was finally time for lunch, and I must say that it exceeded my expectations. There is something truly special about enjoying freshly prepared seafood while looking directly at the Mediterranean Sea. The relaxing atmosphere somehow makes every meal taste even better.

Our table was filled with grilled fish, shrimp, seafood pasta, crispy French fries, fresh salads and traditional Tunisian appetizers. Every dish was beautifully presented, and the freshness of the ingredients clearly reflected the quality of local seafood available in Ghar El Melh.

What I particularly appreciated was that lunch became much more than simply eating. It was another opportunity to enjoy the scenery, share conversations with my family, laugh together and create memories that will certainly remain with us for a long time.

Later in the afternoon, after several hours spent under the summer sun, we enjoyed fresh watermelon and peaches while sitting comfortably above the sea. These simple moments may appear ordinary, but they are often the memories that remain longest because they remind us how happiness is sometimes found in the smallest details.

One of My Favorite Moments

If someone asked me which moment impressed me the most during my visit, I would probably mention the horses walking peacefully along the beach.

Their calm movement, combined with the crystal-clear sea and the beautiful summer light, created a scene that looked almost like a postcard. Many visitors stopped to admire them, while others took photographs to preserve the moment forever.

Watching these magnificent animals walking freely along the shoreline reminded me that Malibu Coucou Beach is not only a modern tourist destination but also a place where nature continues to play the leading role.

A Short Story About Ghar El Melh

Although Malibu Coucou Beach is one of the newest tourist attractions in the region, it is located in a town whose history goes back many centuries.

Ghar El Melh was once one of the most strategic Ottoman naval ports in North Africa. Thanks to its natural harbour, the town became an important commercial and military center where ships from different Mediterranean countries stopped during their journeys.

Even today, visitors can still discover traces of this remarkable history by exploring the old harbour, historic fortifications and surrounding lagoon.

The creation of Malibu Coucou Beach represents another chapter in the town's history. Instead of replacing its historical identity, this modern project complements it by introducing sustainable tourism that respects the surrounding environment while offering visitors a unique seaside experience.

For me, this successful balance between history, nature and modern tourism is what makes Ghar El Melh such a fascinating destination.

Ending the Day from the Sea

As the afternoon slowly came to an end, we boarded a small boat to admire the coastline from another perspective. The sea had become incredibly calm, allowing the boat to glide smoothly across the water while revealing magnificent panoramic views of Ghar El Melh.

Watching Malibu Coucou Beach gradually disappear behind us while the surrounding mountains became illuminated by the golden light of the setting sun created one of the most peaceful moments of the entire day.

It reminded me that sometimes the best way to appreciate a destination is to observe it from a completely different point of view.

A Sunset I Will Never Forget

No visit to the Mediterranean would be complete without watching the sunset, and fortunately nature did not disappoint us.

Little by little, the sky transformed into shades of orange, pink and gold while the sun slowly disappeared behind the mountains surrounding Ghar El Melh. The calm sea reflected every color, creating a spectacular natural painting that changed every minute.

At that moment, nobody felt the need to speak.

We simply admired the scenery in silence, appreciating how fortunate we were to witness such beauty.

It was undoubtedly the perfect conclusion to an unforgettable day.
